Bookkeeper (3 Days per Week)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join Third FD as we grow our finance offering to charities and purpose-led organisations.

This is a 3 days per week role, with potential to increase as new clients are onboarded.

You will play a key role in maintaining accurate, real-time financial data, working closely with the Management Accountant, Portfolio Finance Director and Operations Manager

This is not a purely transactional role — you will be part of a joined-up finance function supporting multiple clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero

  • Process invoices using Dext / ApprovalMax

  • Manage bank reconciliations and control accounts

  • Support month-end close (accruals, prepayments, journals)

  • Prepare and process payment runs (Telleroo / bank platforms)

  • Maintain strong financial controls and audit trails

  • Support client onboarding and process implementation

  • Work within structured workflows (Karbon)

  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure clean data for reporting

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • AAT qualified (Level 3 minimum, Level 4 preferred)

  • 3+ years bookkeeping experience (practice or multi-client preferred)

  • Strong experience with Xero

  • Familiarity with tools such as Dext, ApprovalMax, and payment platforms

Desirable:

  • Charity/not-for-profit experience

  • Understanding of deferred income and fund accounting
